3 days - 2 nights
First Day:
From the area of Livadia Parnassou we will begin our hike at the path that will take us to korikion Andro, a cave that was very important during the Helenistic period. We will have the chance to enter the big cave and enjoy the feeling of living as the ancient Greeks .We will continue our route through a descent path that will lead us to a spot with traditional nature open space with an old fountain where we will have a break. We will go on walking the last part of the old path which joins the korikion Andro with the holy place of Delphi. It is obvious that it is a mostly walked path with flat stones defining the direction at the middle of the path. We can have a view from high up, down to the scenery of Delphi area as far as the sea and the high mountains of Giona, Vardousia. The end of the path is right at the village of Delphi. We can have lunch at a local taverna and enjoy the comments of our route. Free time to walk around the village before going back to our hotel or have an evening walk at the traditional town of Arachova.
Second Day:
In the morning we will visit the archaeological site and museum of Delphi, before starting our hike. The old path called also “Arheo Monopti” was used by pilgrims to the temple of Pronea Athina and Pithia, the priestess that gave the view to a “sea” of olive trees, is amazing. First stop at the small village of chrisso for a short brake and we continue to the little church of Agios Athanasios we can have a beautiful view back at the mountain of Parnassos, the Arachova village at the far end, Delphi village in the middle of the area and the traditional little village of Crisso just behind us. After a while we come to the final part of our route, walking among the olive trees until the end of the path close to Itea port village. Our bus will pick everybody and take us to a local fish taverna for lunch. The day will go on with a visit to the extraordinary port village of Galaxidi where we will have time for a walk through the little roads of the picturesque promenade and have a coffee or a drink befor we get back for rest at the hotel.
Third Day:
Today we will hike at the opposite part of Delphi so we can have an other perspective of the mountain Parnassos and the village of Delphi. We will start our route from the beginning of the path close to the village of Desphina high up at the plateau. In the beginning we walk along a country road which will take us to the start of the path called “Monopati of Cohran”. There we will be informed about who Cohran was and why this path has his name. We will start a serious descent to the ground path and finally we will get down by the river of Plistos which is dry all year long. We continue to ascent the path which will bring us to the end of our hiking route, the village of Chrisso. We can stay at Crisso for lunch or move to Delphi. In the afternoon we can visit the small capital city of district Anfisa for a walk, before we go to rest at the hotel.
