Day 1: Arrival / Munich or Frankfurt Airport – Erfurt

We will start our 10-Day Tourfrom the airport, heading to Erfurt. Arrival at our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Erfurt – Eisenach – Erfurt

After breakfast we will start our tour in Erfurt. In 1521,Luther, while fleeing from the wrath of the Pope, took refuge in the Wartburg Castle after a fake kidnapping staged by his friend and protector, Frederick the Wise. We will tour the Wartburg and see where Luther finished translating the New Testament into German in just eleven weeks. Luther spent time in the nearby town of Eisenach at as school boy and sang in the choir of St. George’s Church, where the Bach family also worshiped. We propose you to visit the Bach Museum and Luther House Museum. Then we will return back to Erfurt. Arrival at our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Erfurt – Wittenberg

After breakfast we will depart for Wittenberg. We will visit St. Mary’s Cathedral, St. Severin’s Church and the famous Merchant’s Bridge. We will end at the Augustinian Monastery, where Luther became a monk on 17th of July1505. We will see his monastic quarters, including one cell furnished to look as it would have done, when he lived there. Arrival at our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Wittenberg

After breakfast we will have a guided tour atLutherstadt. It was there in 1517 that Martin Luther nailed his famous 95 Theses and Melanchthon helped forge Reformation Theology. There the Cranachs painted now famous portraits of Luther. We will have free time in the Lutherhalle (Luther House) Museum, where Luther lived first as a monk, then later with his wife and children. We will view some of Luther’s very own personal library, rare manuscripts and early Bibles. We will also visit Castle Church, Stadtkirche St. Marien (St. Mary’s church), where Luther preached and where his children were baptized and the Luther Oak where he burned the edict from Rome, condemning him as a “heretic”.Return back at our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Wittenberg – Berlin – Wittenberg

After breakfast we will drive to Berlin for a city tour, which will include a stop at the famous Brandenburg Gate. Free time will be given for photos. We will also see the Cathedral, the Reichstag building and the lively boulevards. Our afternoon will be free to explore on our own. Free time to explore the city. Arrival at our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Wittenberg – Leipzig – Nurnberg

After breakfast we will depart for Leipzig and we will have a guided walking tour. We will the Luther House, where Martin Luther and his family lived. Then, we will visit St. Mary’s Church, a twin-towered gothic church where Luther preached reform, got married, and baptized his six children. Finally, we will see the door of Castle Church, where Luther posted his 95 Theses, launching the Reformation in 1517. We will have a walking tour and we will visit the Thomaskirche, where Johann Sebastian Bach worked as a cantor. Then, we will depart for Nurnberg, the first town that accept the Reformation in 1525.Arrival at our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Nurnberg

After breakfast we will depart for the medieval walled town of Rothenburg, where we will visit the St. Jacob’s Church with its masterpiece Altar of the Holy Blood. Afterwards, we will have free time for shopping. We propose to visit theSt. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Arrival at our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Nurnberg – Regensburg

After breakfast we will depart for Regensburg, situated at the northernmost point of the Danube and with its striking silhouette of defiant tower constructions, the beautiful Cathedral and the lofty lineage towers, it is the best preservedmedieval city of Germany and UNESCOWorld Heritage. The historically significant religious talks between Dr. Eck and Philipp Melanchthon took place here, in Regensburg, from 1541 to 1546. We will visit the Cemetery of Emissaries, the Trinity Church, the Cathedral of St. Peter and Basilica and crypts of St.Emmeram. Arrival at our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Regensburg – Dachau – Munich

After breakfast we will be transferred from Regensburg to Munich, where we will stop for a guided tour of the Dachau Concentration Camp.  Soon after the Nazis took power, the Reichsfuhrer SS (Heinrich Himmler) ordered the construction of the Dachau Concentration Camp to serve as a special prison for political and later social and ethnic, enemies of Nazi Germany. Then, we will depart for Munich. Arrival at our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay

Day 10: Departure / Munich Airport

After breakfast we will have free time and we will be transferred to the airport.Depart from Germany with the best memories.
