Day 1 | Airport Arrival at Munich or Frankfurt or Erfurt<\/h3>\n

We begin our 10-day tour at the airport and travel to Erfurt. Upon arrival, we will check in to our hotel, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_single_image image=”27651″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Day 2 | Erfurt \u2013 Eisenach<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we will begin our tour of Erfurt. In 1521, while fleeing the wrath of the Pope, Luther took refuge at Wartburg Castle after a staged \u201ckidnapping\u201d arranged by his friend and protector, Frederick the Wise. We will explore the Wartburg and visit the room where Luther completed his translation of the New Testament into German in just eleven weeks. Luther also spent part of his youth in nearby Eisenach, where he sang in the choir of St. George\u2019s Church\u2014the same church where the Bach family worshipped. We will then visit the Bach Museum and the Luther House Museum. Day 3 | Erfurt \u2013 Wittenberg<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we will visit the Augustinian Monastery, where Luther became a monk on July 17, 1505. We will tour his monastic quarters, including a cell furnished exactly as it would have appeared during his time there. We will then depart for Wittenberg, where we will visit St. Mary\u2019s Cathedral, St. Severin\u2019s Church, and the famous Merchant\u2019s Bridge. Day 4 | Wittenberg \u2013 Lutherstadt<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we will enjoy a guided tour of Lutherstadt. This is where, in 1517, Martin Luther posted his famous 95 Theses, and where Melanchthon helped shape Reformation theology. It is also here that the Cranach family painted their well-known portraits of Luther. We will then have free time to explore the Lutherhalle (Luther House) Museum, where Luther first lived as a monk and later with his wife and children. There, we will view items from Luther\u2019s personal library, along with rare manuscripts and early editions of the Bible. We will also have the opportunity to visit Castle Church and St. Mary\u2019s Church (Stadtkirche St. Marien), where Luther preached and baptized his children. We will then see the Luther Oak, the site where he burned the papal edict that condemned him as a \u201cheretic.\u201d Afterward, we return to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_single_image image=”23449″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Day 5 | Wittenberg \u2013 Berlin<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we will drive to Berlin for a city tour, including a stop at the famous Brandenburg Gate, where you will have free time for photos. We will also visit the Cathedral, the Reichstag building, and the city\u2019s lively boulevards. The afternoon will be dedicated to exploring Berlin. After breakfast, we will depart for Nuremberg, the first city to embrace the Reformation in 1525. You will have free time for photos and shopping in the city center. Day 7 | Nuremberg<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we will depart for the medieval walled town of Rothenburg and visit St. Jacob’s Church, home to the masterpiece, the Altar of the Holy Blood. Afterwards, there will be free time for shopping and photos. We also recommend visiting St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Later, we will visit the Documentation Center at the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds. Housed in the north wing of the unfinished Congress Hall, the permanent exhibition \u201cFascination and Terror\u201d explores the causes, connections, and consequences of Nazi Germany. Day 8 | Nuremberg \u2013 Regensburg<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we will depart for Regensburg, situated on the northern bank of the Danube. The city is renowned for its striking towers, beautiful cathedral, and historic skyline. As the best-preserved medieval city in Germany, Regensburg is a UNESCO World Heritage site. From 1541 to 1546, the city hosted the historically significant religious debates between Dr. Eck and Philipp Melanchthon. We will visit the Cemetery of Emissaries, Trinity Church, St. Peter\u2019s Cathedral, and the Basilica and Crypts of St. Emmeram. Day 9 | Nuremberg – Dachau \u2013 Munich<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we will transfer from Regensburg to Munich, stopping for a guided tour of the Dachau Concentration Camp. Shortly after the Nazis came to power, Reichsf\u00fchrer-SS Heinrich Himmler ordered the construction of Dachau as a special prison for political opponents and later for other social and ethnic groups targeted by the Nazi regime. After the tour, we will continue to Munich, with free time for photos and shopping. We will then proceed to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Day 10 | Munich Airport \u2013 Departure<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we will have free time for photos and shopping in Munich, depending on our departure time.
