Day 1 | Arrival at Thessaloniki Airport – Thessaloniki Overnight<\/h3>\n

Arrival at the Airport of Thessaloniki and we will be heading to the second largest city of Greece, Thessaloniki. It was founded by the ascendant of Alexander the Great, Cassander. We will have free time in the city for personal activities. Dinner and overnight stay[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_single_image image=”22191″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Day 2 | Thessaloniki – Philippi – Kavala – Thessaloniki Overnight<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we begin our tour with the city’s major landmarks: the White Tower, the Byzantine Acropolis Walls, the Roman Arch of Galerius, and the Rotunda. We then visit two of Thessaloniki\u2019s oldest and most revered Christian churches\u2014the Basilicas of St. Demetrius and St. Sophia. Next, we follow the route of the ancient Via Egnatia to Amphipolis, just as Paul and his companions once did, and see the famous funerary Lion of Amphipolis. From there, we continue to Philippi, where we visit the Baptistery of Lydia by the river, the site where Paul baptized her\u2014his first convert on European soil, followed by the jailer. We also explore the ruins of the Forum of Philippi, the early Christian Basilicas, the \u201cPrison of Paul,\u201d and the ancient Theater. Our journey then takes us to Kavala (ancient Neapolis), Paul\u2019s first stop when bringing the Gospel to Europe. This picturesque port city features notable sites such as the Byzantine Castle and the Roman Aqueduct. We return to Thessaloniki for dinner and an overnight stay[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_single_image image=”17181″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Day 3 | Thessaloniki – Veria – Vergina – Kalambaka Overnight<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we will depart for Veria, the capital of Imathia, located at the foot of Mount Vermio. Upon arrival, we will have free time to visit the Apostle Paul\u2019s Steps and the Synagogue, situated in the Barbouta area, historically known as the Jewish District. The stone-built Synagogue is the oldest in Northern Greece. Next, we will continue to Vergina to visit the museum, which houses four tombs, including the two most significant: the tomb of Philip II and the tomb of Alexander IV, as well as a small shrine known as the Heroes\u2019 Garden. We will then depart for Kalambaka, where we will check in to our hotel. Day 4 | Kalambaka – Meteora – Preveza Overnight<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we will visit the world-famous Byzantine monasteries perched atop striking gray rock peaks of varied and beautiful shapes. Their history dates back to the 14th century, when monks first sought refuge in cliff-side caves before moving higher to build wooden shelters, which were later transformed into the monasteries we see today. We will visit two of the six monasteries. Afterwards, we continue our journey to Preveza for dinner and an overnight stay[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_single_image image=”27534″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Day 5 | Preveza – Amvrakikos Gulf Cruise – Preveza Overnight<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we will embark on a cruise in the Amvrakikos Gulf to experience its tranquil beauty and rich biodiversity. The cruise provides a peaceful escape and a unique perspective of the region\u2019s stunning coastline. We will also have the opportunity to hike in Koronisia, a picturesque village situated on an islet in the gulf. The hike offers breathtaking views of the surrounding wetlands and lagoons, making it a perfect experience for nature enthusiasts. Day 6 | Preveza – Nicopolis – Dephi Overnight<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we will depart for the Ancient City of Nicopolis, a historical gem founded by Octavian Augustus in 31 BC to commemorate his victory at the Battle of Actium. Situated in the picturesque region of Epirus, Nicopolis features impressive ruins that offer a glimpse into its grand past. The Apostle Paul spent the winter here, as referenced in the Epistle to Titus in the New Testament (Titus 3:12). After our visit, we will continue to Delphi for dinner and an overnight stay[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_single_image image=”23501″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

Day 7 | Delphi – Osios Loukas – Athens Overnight<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we will depart for the Archaeological Site of Delphi, once considered the \u201cCenter of the World\u201d in ancient Greece and today one of the country\u2019s most renowned archaeological sites. With our guide, we will explore the evocative ruins and see famous monuments such as the Monument of the Argive Kings, the Treasury of the Athenians, the Athenian Stoa, the Polygonal Wall, the Monument of Plataea, and the Temple of Apollo, famed for its oracle. Next, we will visit the Delphi Museum, which houses spectacular exhibits including the frieze of the Treasury of the Siphnians, the Naxian Sphinx, the Statue of Antinoos, the metopes of the Athenian Treasury, the famous bronze Charioteer\u2014originally created to commemorate a victory in the 476 B.C. Pythian Games\u2014and many other remarkable artifacts. We will then depart for Athens, with a short stop at the architectural marvel of Osios Loukas Church in Boeotia. This UNESCO World Heritage site, nestled in the scenic Greek countryside, is a stunning example of Byzantine art and architecture. Renowned for its intricate mosaics, beautiful frescoes, and impressive domes, Osios Loukas Church offers a serene and inspiring atmosphere for visitors. Day 8 | Athens Overnight<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we will depart for a guided tour beginning at the Panathenaic Stadium, also known as Kallimarmaro. In antiquity, it was used for the celebration of the Panathenaea in honor of the goddess Athena. You will have some free time to take photos. We will then board our coach and continue to see the Zappeion Hall, the Greek Parliament, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a symbolic monument honoring the soldiers who died for their country. Along Panepistimiou Street, one of Athens\u2019 central thoroughfares, we will admire the triad of neoclassical buildings: the National Library, the Academy, and the University. Next, we visit the Acropolis, home to magnificent monuments including the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion, the Propylaea, the Ancient Agora, the Theatre of Dionysus, and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus. You will have the opportunity to walk around the Parthenon, built in the 5th century BC by the architects Ictinus and Kallikrates. We will also visit Mars Hill, known as the Areopagus, where the Apostle Paul delivered his famous speech to the Athenians. Day 9 | Athens – Ancient Corinth – Greek Bible College – Athens Overnight<\/h3>\n

After breakfast, we will depart for the Peloponnese. Our first stop is the Isthmus of Corinth, a narrow strip of land six kilometers long connecting Central Greece with the Peloponnese. You will have some free time to take photos. We will then explore Ancient Corinth, an important city-state in Ancient Greece with origins dating back to the Neolithic Period (5000\u20133000 BC). Here, we will visit one of Greece\u2019s largest and most impressive museums, renowned for the wealth and quality of its findings (Acts 18:1\u201318, 19:22). Highlights include the Bema of Gallio and the Erastus inscription. We will also visit Acrocorinth and Cenchreae (Acts 18:18). On the way back to Athens, we will stop at the Greek Bible College.
