1st Day<\/span>: ATHENS AIRPORT ARRIVAL<\/span><\/h3>\n

Arrival at the airport<\/span> <\/span>of<\/span> Athens<\/span> and we depart for <\/span>Athens<\/span>. We will have free time (depends on the arrival time of our flight). Arrival to our hotel. <\/span>Dinner and overnight stay<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

2nd Day<\/span>: ATHENS<\/span><\/h3>\n

After <\/span>breakfast<\/span>, <\/span>we will have a <\/span>City Tour<\/span>, starting from the <\/span>Panathenaic Stadium<\/span> known as <\/span>Kallimarmaro<\/span>. In Antiquity, the Stadium was used for <\/span>Panathenea<\/span>, the celebration head<\/span> in honor<\/span> <\/span>of <\/span>Goddess Athena<\/span>. Free time for photos will be given. With the bus we will be heading for <\/span>Zappeion Hall<\/span>, the <\/span>Greek Parliament<\/span> and the <\/span>Tomb of Unknown Soldier<\/span>, which is a symbolic monument dedicated to the memory of the soldiers who died fighting for their country. Passing along <\/span>Panepistimiou Street<\/span>, one of the most known and central streets of <\/span>Athens<\/span>, we will end up in the triad of neoclassical buildings: The <\/span>Library<\/span>, the <\/span>Academy<\/span> and the <\/span>University<\/span>. Coming next is our most important visit in the center of <\/span>Athens<\/span>, <\/span>Acropolis<\/span>. Here we will have the chance to admire magnificent monuments, such as <\/span>Parthenon<\/span>, the <\/span>Temple of Athena Nike<\/span>, the <\/span>Erechtheion<\/span>, the <\/span>Propilaia<\/span>, the <\/span>Ancient Agora<\/span>, the <\/span>theatre of Dionysus<\/span> and the <\/span>Odeon of <\/span>Herodes<\/span> Atticus<\/span>. We will have time for a tour in <\/span>Parthenon Monument<\/span>, which was built in the <\/span>5<\/span>th<\/span> century B.C<\/span> by the architects <\/span>Ictinus <\/span>and<\/span> <\/span>Kallikrates<\/span>. A visit in the <\/span>New Acropolis Museum<\/span> follows, which mainly includes findings of the archaeological area of <\/span>Acropolis<\/span>. The <\/span>Museum <\/span>first opened in 2009<\/span> and the building was designed by <\/span>French-Swiss <\/span>Benar<\/span> <\/span>Tschumi<\/span>. It is considered one of the most beautiful museums. After that, we will have free time in the old historical neighborhood of <\/span>Plaka<\/span>, a district in the center of <\/span>Athens<\/span>, near the <\/span>Acropolis<\/span>. 3rd Day<\/span>: <\/span>ISTHMUS OF CORINTH – ANCIENT CORINTH – NAFPLION<\/span><\/h3>\n

After <\/span>breakfast<\/span>, we will depart for <\/span>Ancient Corinth<\/span>. Our first stop will be at the <\/span>Isthmus of Corinth<\/span>. It is a narrow strip of land 6 kilometers in length joining <\/span>Central Greece with Peloponnese<\/span>. We will have free time to take photos. Then, we <\/span>will drive to the <\/span>Ancient Corinth<\/span>, an important city – state in <\/span>Ancient Greece<\/span> <\/span>that dates back from the <\/span>Neolithic Period (5.000-3.000)<\/span>. We will visit one of the <\/span>largest<\/span> <\/span>museums<\/span> in Greece, in terms of the wealth and quality of the findings. <\/span>We continue our trip for the capital of the prefecture <\/span>Argolis<\/span>, <\/span>Nafplion<\/span>. It is one of the most scenic cities in the country and it was the first capital of Greek state during the period 1828 – 1833. We will have free time to explore the picturesque streets of the city. 4th Day<\/span>: MYCENAE – NAFPAKTOS – DELPHI<\/span><\/h3>\n

After <\/span>breakfast<\/span>, we will <\/span>depart for <\/span>Mycenae<\/span>. It was an ancient city of <\/span>Argolis<\/span> and one of the largest Greek culture centers forming a strong military fortress. We shall visit the <\/span>Kingdom of Mythical Agamemnon<\/span> whom first Homer praised in his epics. <\/span>Then, we will depart for <\/span>Nafpaktos<\/span>. It is a coastal town situated in the <\/span>Corinth Gulf<\/span>, a city of great history. It appears in <\/span>1104 BC<\/span> with the <\/span>Dorians<\/span>. It is known for the naval battle that was taken place in <\/span>1571 between Christians <\/span>and the<\/span> Turks<\/span>. We will have time to wander around the picturesque <\/span>Venetian <\/span>harbour<\/span> and take photos. Then, we will visit the <\/span>Monastery of Holy Transfiguration in Nafpaktos<\/span>.<\/span> Departure for <\/span>Delphi<\/span> and arrival to our hotel. <\/span>Dinner and overnight stay<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

5th Day<\/span>: KALAMBAKA<\/span><\/h3>\n

After <\/span>breakfast<\/span>, we will depart for <\/span>Delphi<\/span>. <\/span>\u0399<\/span>t was an ancient Greek city in which the most important Oracle of ancient Greek world was operated. <\/span>Earlier myths include traditions that <\/span>Pythia<\/span>, or the Delphic oracle, already was the site of an important oracle in the pre-classical Greek world (as early as 1400 BC) and, rededicated, served as the major site during classical times for the worship of the god Apollo after he slew Python, “a dragon” who lived there and protected the navel of the Earth.<\/span> We will be guided around the <\/span>Archaeological Site<\/span> and the <\/span>Museum<\/span>. 6th Day<\/span>: <\/span>METEORA – KAVALA<\/span><\/h3>\n

After <\/span>breakfast<\/span>, we will depart for <\/span>Meteora<\/span> and we will start our daily trip, by visiting the prefecture built in a rare geological phenomenon of <\/span>Meteora<\/span>. It\u2019s a cluster of huge dark colored stones made of sandstone. The name <\/span>Meteora<\/span> is attributed to the monk of the monastery, <\/span>Agios Athanasius the Meteorite<\/span>. We will <\/span>have the chance to enjoy the panoramic view and visit two of the monasteries. Then, we will depart for <\/span>Kavala<\/span>. 7th Day<\/span>: <\/span>PHILIPPI (BAPTISTERY OF ST. LYDIA) – <\/span>THESSALONIKI<\/span><\/h3>\n

After <\/span>breakfast<\/span>, we will continue our trip to <\/span>Kavala<\/span>. <\/span>Synthesis of mosaic<\/span> is placed in the <\/span>step of Apostle Paul <\/span>in the city of <\/span>Kavala<\/span>, next to <\/span>Church Agios Nikolaos<\/span>, with title <\/span>“The arrival of the Apostle Paul in Neapolis of Philippi”<\/span>. At this point then allegedly became the landing of <\/span>St. Paul<\/span> has created a monument honoring the first steps in the city of Kavala. Our next stop will be at the <\/span>Ancient Colony of Philippi<\/span>, which was built in 356 B.C. by Alexander\u2019s father, <\/span>Philip II<\/span>. We will visit the <\/span>Ancient Theatre<\/span> and the <\/span>Church of Philippi<\/span>, founded by <\/span>Apostle Paul in 49 <\/span>a.D.<\/span> It was the first church in European territory. Then we will visit the <\/span>Baptistery of St. Lydia of Filippisias<\/span>. <\/span>Then, we will be heading to the second largest city of Greece, <\/span>Thessaloniki<\/span>. It was founded by the ascendant of <\/span>Alexander the Great<\/span>, <\/span>Cassander<\/span>. Arrival to our <\/span>hotel. <\/span>Dinner and overnight stay<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

8th Day<\/span>: THESSALONIKI<\/span><\/h3>\n

After <\/span>breakfast<\/span>, we will have a <\/span>city tour<\/span>, starting from <\/span>Saint Dimitrius<\/span>, where we will pilgrimage the relics of the Saint, admire the mosaics of the Church and also visit the spot where the Saint martyred. Our next stop will be the <\/span>White Tower<\/span> and <\/span>Upper Town<\/span>, where we will enjoy a panoramic view of <\/span>Thessaloniki<\/span>. Free time in the city for photos and shopping. Arrival to our hotel. <\/span>Dinner and<\/span> <\/span>overnight stay<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

9th Day<\/span>: VERIA – VERGINA – IGOUMENITSA<\/span><\/h3>\n

After <\/span>breakfast<\/span>, we will depart for <\/span>Veria<\/span>, the capital of <\/span>Imathia<\/span>. It is built at the foot of <\/span>Mount <\/span>Vermio<\/span>. We will have free time to visit the <\/span>Step of Apostle Paul<\/span>. Then, we will depart for <\/span>Vergina<\/span>, where we will visit the <\/span>museum with the four tombs<\/span> and a small shrine, the Heroes Garden. Two of the tombs are the most significant, the one of Philip II and the other of Alexander the fourth. Then, we will depart for the port of <\/span>Igoumenitsa<\/span>, where we will take the ferry to <\/span>Bari<\/span>, <\/span>Italy<\/span>. <\/span>Dinner and overnight on board<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

10th Day<\/span>: BARI – POMPEII – ROME<\/span><\/h3>\n

Arrival to the port of <\/span>Bari<\/span> and we departure for <\/span>Pompeii<\/span>, which <\/span>was an <\/span>ancient city<\/span> located near <\/span>Naples<\/span> in the <\/span>Campania<\/span> region of <\/span>Italy<\/span>. <\/span>Pompeii<\/span> was buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount <\/span>Vesuvius in AD 79. Largely preserved under the ash, the <\/span>excavated city<\/span> offered a unique snapshot of <\/span>Roman life<\/span> and an extraordinarily detailed insight into the <\/span>everyday life of its inhabitants. Pompeii is a <\/span>UNESCO World Heritage Site<\/span>. <\/span>Our next stop is <\/span>Rome<\/span>. We will <\/span>have various stops, including<\/span> the symbol of Roman Empire, the Colosseum, the Palatine Hill, the Ancient Market, the Imperial Forum in Piazza Venezia, with the imposing Vitoria symbol of New Rome, the Piazza Navona, the San Paolo <\/span>Fuori<\/span>, the Monastery of Tre Fontana, San Clemente Church etc. Return to the hotel<\/span> late in the evening<\/span>. <\/span>Dinner and overnight stay<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
